Remarks
If CommitAsync(CancellationToken) started the commit and failed, the transaction is not rolled back: its handles are released and its files are left for the cleaner, which resolves them through the resolution callback, or deletes the files the journal lists without asking if the journal had already been renamed to committed when the commit failed.
